Overview

Catherine Tannerre, a young journalist, witnesses a pact of friendship between three Frenchmen in Vietnam. Each takes a different path: one is a priest helping the local people, the second aspires to become an advisor to the Emperor, and the last longs to start a family. But their destinies become intertwined, and Catherine soon suffers heartbreak and betrayal...
