Byron P. HowardĀ (born December 26, 1968) is an American animator, character designer, story artist, film director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known as one of the directors of theĀ Walt Disney Animation StudiosĀ filmsĀ BoltĀ (2008),Ā TangledĀ (2010),Ā Zootopia (2016),Ā EncantoĀ (2021), andĀ Zootopia 2Ā (2025). He is the first LGBT director to win theĀ OscarĀ for Best Animated Feature twice for his work onĀ ZootopiaĀ andĀ Encanto.
