Michael Andrew JaceĀ (born July 13, 1962) is an American convictedĀ murdererĀ and former actor. He is best known for his role as the bisexual Los Angeles Police Officer Julien Lowe in the FX drama The Shield. He also has parts in the movies State of Play, The Replacements, Forrest Gump, The Fan, as well as an array of TV appearances including the 1995 HBO TV movie Tyson (as boxer Mitch Green), Law & Order, and the 1999 Fox TV movie Michael Jordan: An American Hero (as Jordan).
He was arrested by theĀ Los Angeles Police DepartmentĀ on the evening of May 19, 2014, at hisĀ Hyde Park,Ā South Los AngelesĀ home, following aĀ domestic violence report as well as his ownĀ 9-1-1Ā call, in which he stated, "I shot my wife." When police arrived, they found Jace's second wife,Ā April, dead from gunshot wounds. After being questioned by police regarding his wife's death, he confessed to the shooting. On May 31, 2016, a jury convicted him ofĀ second-degree murderĀ and, on June 10, 2016, sentenced him to 40 years to life in prison. He is incarcerated at theĀ Corcoran State Prison.
