James Platten VanderbiltĀ (born November 17, 1975)Ā is an American screenwriter and producer. He is best known for writing the filmsĀ ZodiacĀ (2007),Ā The Amazing Spider-ManĀ (2012) and itsĀ 2014 sequel, andĀ Independence Day: ResurgenceĀ (2016). He also co-wrote and producedĀ ScreamĀ (2022) and itsĀ 2023 sequel. Vanderbilt also contributed as a producer for several films, includingĀ The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018) andĀ Ready or NotĀ (2019).
