Born inĀ Orange County, CaliforniaĀ and moving toĀ Brisbane,Ā QueenslandĀ as a young child, her first television role was at age eleven on theĀ children's television seriesĀ The Wayne Manifesto. She has since guest starred on a number ofĀ television programsĀ includingĀ Home and Away,Ā All Saints,Ā White Collar Blue,Ā Beastmaster,Ā Flipper,Ā The Sleepover Club, and appeared in the 2003 filmĀ Ned Kelly. Harman played the feature role of Silvy Lewis in the Paramount motion pictureĀ Till Human Voices Wake UsĀ withĀ Guy PearceĀ andĀ Helena Bonham Carter.
