Biography
Taron EgertonĀ (/ĖÉdŹÉrtÉn/Ā EJ-Ér-tÉn; born 10 November 1989) is a Welsh actor. After graduating from theĀ Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, he performed in stage plays before gaining recognition for his starring role as a spy in the action comedy filmsĀ Kingsman: The Secret ServiceĀ (2014) andĀ Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017).
Egerton has starred in several biographical films, portraying military officerĀ Edward BrittainĀ in the dramaĀ Testament of YouthĀ (2014), theĀ titular ski-jumperĀ in the sports filmĀ Eddie the EagleĀ (2016), and singerĀ Elton JohnĀ in the musicalĀ Rocketman (2019). The last of these earned him aĀ Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. He also starred asĀ Jimmy KeeneĀ in the miniseriesĀ Black BirdĀ (2022), for which he was nominated for aĀ Primetime Emmy Award, asĀ Henk RogersĀ in the biopicĀ Tetris (2023), and in the thriller filmĀ Carry-OnĀ (2024).
