Biography

Jarin BlaschkeĀ (born September 28, 1978) is an AmericanĀ cinematographer best known for his work with directorĀ Robert Eggers. For his work on the psychological horror filmĀ The Lighthouse, he earned a nomination for theĀ Academy Award for Best Cinematography.

When he was 16, Blaschke moved to New York City to study film at theĀ School of Visual Arts.

Blaschke first rose to prominence with his work onĀ Robert Eggers' directorial debut, The Witch. His work received acclaim, in addition to several Film Critic Association nominations, including theĀ Seattle Film Critics Society Award for Best Cinematography.Ā He would reteam with Eggers forĀ The Lighthouse, which was filmed in black and white negative.Ā In addition to his Academy Award nomination, Blaschke won theĀ Independent Spirit Award for Best Cinematography and was nominated for theĀ BAFTAĀ andĀ Critics' Choice Award.

Blaschke currently lives inĀ England.
