David Bowditch MorseĀ (born October 11, 1953)Ā is an American actor. Morse became widely known for his role as Dr. Jack "Boomer" Morrison in theĀ NBCĀ medical drama seriesĀ St. ElsewhereĀ (1982ā88). Some other notable roles are inĀ The Negotiator,Ā The Good Son,Ā Horns,Ā Contact,Ā The Green Mile,Ā Dancer in the Dark,Ā Disturbia,Ā The Hurt Locker,Ā The Long Kiss Goodnight,Ā The RockĀ andĀ 12 Monkeys.
In 2006, he had a recurring role as Detective Michael Tritter on the medical drama House for which he received an Emmy Award nomination.Ā He portrayed George Washington in the 2008 HBO Miniseries John Adams, which garnered him a second Emmy nomination. He has received acclaim for his portrayal of Uncle Peck on the Off-Broadway play How I Learned to Drive for which he earned a Drama Desk and Obie Award. He also had success on Broadway, portraying James "Sharky" Harkin in The Seafarer. From 2010 to 2013, he portrayed Terry Colson, an honest police officer in a corrupt New OrleansĀ police department, on the HBO seriesĀ Treme. Morse appeared in the WGN America seriesĀ OutsidersĀ (2016ā17), theĀ ShowtimeĀ miniseriesĀ Escape at DannemoraĀ (2018), theĀ NetflixĀ comedy drama seriesĀ The ChairĀ (2021), and theĀ Apple TVĀ mystery seriesĀ The Last Thing He Told MeĀ (2023-2026).
