Ferguson ArthurĀ 'Fergie'Ā JenkinsĀ OCĀ (born December 13, 1942)Ā is a Canadian former professionalĀ baseballĀ pitcherĀ andĀ coach. He playedĀ Major League BaseballĀ (MLB) from 1965 to 1983 for theĀ Philadelphia Phillies,Ā Chicago Cubs,Ā Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox.

He played most of his career with the Cubs. He was aĀ National LeagueĀ (NL) and CubsĀ All-StarĀ for three seasons, and in 1971, he was the first Canadian and Cubs pitcher to win aĀ Cy Young Award. He was a 20-game winner for seven seasons, including six consecutive seasons for the Cubs. He was the NL leader inĀ wins, in 1971, and theĀ American LeagueĀ (AL) leader in wins, in 1974. He was also the NL leader inĀ complete gamesĀ in 1967, 1970, and 1971, and the AL leader in complete games in 1974. He led the NL inĀ strikeoutsĀ in 1969 and had overĀ 3,000 strikeouts during his career. His 284 victories are the most by a black pitcher in major league history.

He playedĀ basketballĀ in the off-season for theĀ Harlem GlobetrottersĀ from 1967 to 1969, and pitched two seasons in Canada for theĀ minor leagueĀ London Majors following his major league career.

He became the first Canadian to be inducted into theĀ National Baseball Hall of FameĀ inĀ 1991; he remained the only one untilĀ Larry Walker's election inĀ 2020.
